Pigmentation and uneven skin tone at Harley Street

Sun spots, darker patches and marks left after spots, with a plan built around your skin type.

What causes it

Pigmentation happens when skin makes extra melanin in some areas. Common triggers are sun exposure over the years, hormonal changes (including pregnancy and the pill), and inflammation from spots or irritation, which can leave darker marks behind. Darker skin types are more prone to marks after inflammation, so treatment needs to be gentle and well planned.

How I can help

  • A skin consultation to work out what type of pigmentation you have and what is driving it.
  • A personalised daily plan built around sun protection and brightening skincare, which does most of the work over time.
  • In-clinic treatment where it helps, such as a course of peels, chosen for your skin type.

What to expect

Pigmentation fades gradually, usually over months rather than weeks, and can come back with sun exposure or hormonal change. Daily SPF is part of every plan.

When to see your GP or a dermatologist

Any spot or mole that is new, changing, bleeding or itching needs checking by your GP before any cosmetic treatment.

Medical-grade skincare

Your plan uses skincare from Obagi, Skinbetter Science and Epicutis, chosen for your skin, with in-clinic treatment where it helps. Everything is explained, including costs, before you decide.
